Suryakumar Yadav starred for India in the third T20I against Sri Lanka, scoring a scintillating 112 not out off 51 balls to lead his team to a dominant 91-run victory and secure a memorable series win.

This was Yadav’s third T20I century and he made it look easy, hitting fours and sixes at will all over the ground. The Indian bowlers then took control, dismissing Sri Lanka for 137 in 16.4 overs to seal the series 2-1.

While the first two matches of the series were closely contested, India dominated with both bat and ball in the decisive match, boosting the morale of the young team.

Sri Lanka got off to a strong start in the chase, with an opening partnership of 44 runs, but the increasing required run rate and regular loss of wickets proved too much for the visitors.

The Indian bowlers, led by Arshdeep Singh’s 3 for 20, were aided by excellent fielding, including a great catch by Shivam Mavi. However, India also struggled with no balls and wide balls, including four by Arshdeep.

Earlier in the match, after reaching his half century in 26 balls, Yadav needed just 19 more deliveries to bring up his century.

He ended the innings in style, hitting a six and a four off Chamika Karunaratne in the final over. Shubman Gill contributed 46 runs, while Rahul Triptahi scored 35 off 16 balls.

For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka took two wickets and Karunaratne one.
